Gram's Ranch House, Front Door
Gram's Ranch house was Violet Locke McIvor's house (Scott's Gram)
when she stayed at the ranch. It is a neat old house with lots of charm.

Gram's Ranch house has a wonderful view of the
University of Texas McDonald Observatory from the front porch.
The Observatory sits upon Mount Locke, which is named in honor of G. Scott Locke. The two hundred acres that the observatory sits on
was donated by Violet Locke McIvor in 1933.

The back porch is very inviting with lots of wildlife to see and
a majestic view of Blue Mountain, a local landmark.

Our guests have identified many species of birds
and we have an on-going list of sightings.

There are plenty of horses, cattle, goats, chickens, wild turkey,
deer and even a few javelina at times.

You can hike, bike, bird watch or just relax.
